STRESS MANAGEMENT
Every individual in the world is affected by stress, but college students seem to be more susceptible to it. College can be a very exciting time for you but it is important to be aware that it can also be a stressful time if you do not know how to manage your stress levels. No one person is immune to stress but there are various ways you can manage your stress levels before you reach a mental breakdown or burnout. Stress management tools allow you to keep your stress levels and tension in control at a stable amount. Stress occurs when tension levels exceed energy levels. As long as you have energy that exceeds that of your tension level your mental state will remain unaffected. If your energy is low while your tension is high then that is when stress occurs in the form of anxiety and feeling overwhelmed.
Everyone feels stressed in various ways: headaches, uneasiness, unable to concentrate on the task at hand, etc. Some psychological signs are more noticeable such as depression, anxiety, anger, irritability, problems with sleep, and constant worry—all which can lead to poorly made decisions not only in an academic setting but also in life.
