NOTE-TAKING

Have you ever taken notes during lecture, then upon reviewing your notes afterwards, you find your notes are vague and disorganized, leaving you lost as to what is being discussed? If so, you could benefit from building your note-taking skills with the help of one of our Academic Coaches.

Note-taking is a vital skill for you as a college student. Taking quality notes supports your study process while also preparing you for quizzes, tests, and other class projects. Common methods of note-taking involve outlining, mapping, charting, and Cornell style. Keep in mind that note-taking preferences differ from student to student. What works for one student may not be as beneficial to you. Therefore, do not be afraid to practice using different styles of note-taking to find one(s) that suit you best.
