Do you get questions about using STC Library online resources from Dual Credit students at your high school? Contact the Outreach & Instruction Librarian to find out how you can gain access to the STC Library online resources so that you are better prepared to assist your students.
*Note: Due to CIPA (Children's Internet Protection Act) required internet filters in place at public schools you may hear from your students or teachers that are attempting to access STC's online library resources that they are being blocked from logging in. The library databases are set up to be accessed via a proxy server when users are not on an STC Campus. Your school districts' filters may be set up to block access to any site with a proxy URL. If you run into this issue please contact your district library coordinator or your technology resources department to request that STC's library proxy URL be unblocked.
The proxy URL is:
https://ezproxy.southtexascollege.edu/login?url=
In some cases, it may be necessary to contact the Outreach and Instruction Librarian to get the appropriate IP address range for the proxy server.
I have a library item that is overdue. Will I receive a fine or suspension?
The library no longer charges fines for items that are overdue. However, students, community users, and TexShare users with overdue items will be suspended from checking out additional library items. For more information, view our Circulation Guidelines.
If I need a book or article that the STC library does not own, what are my options?
You can request that the item be sent from another library through our Interlibrary Loan service.
One of the STC libraries has what I need, but I don’t visit that campus. What can I do?
You can fill out a Campus to Campus form. If the item is available, we’ll bring it to your campus library as quickly as possible, which is usually within 2 business days.
