Texas Legislature

The Texas legislature requires for general academic teaching institutions to offer training in personal financial literacy to provide students of the institution with the knowledge and skills necessary as self-supporting adults to make important decisions relating to personal financial literacy matters.

Relates to requirements for personal financial literacy training offered by public school districts and public universities.

FAFSA Timeline

To apply for federal student aid, you need to complete the FAFSASM or Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Completing and submitting the FAFSA is free and easier than ever, and it gives you access to the largest source of financial aid to pay for college or career school.

2021-2022

Federal Deadline

June 30, 2022:  Online applications must be submitted by midnight Central Time.

September 10, 2022:  Any corrections or updates must be submitted by midnight Central Time.

2020-2021

Federal Deadline

June 30, 2021:  Online applications must be submitted by midnight Central Time.

September 11, 2021:  Any corrections or updates must be submitted by midnight Central Time.

Student Financial Services Deadlines

Recommended Priority Dates:

March 15:  Fall semester.

October 1:  Spring semester.
